14 Hero ng WW II, pinarangalan!

Pinangunahan ng Department of National Defense(DND) ang pag binigay ng natatanging pagkilala matapos igawad ang posthumous award sa 14 na beterano na lumaban sa World War II na kinabibilangan ng isang 97 year old na si 2nd Lt. Benjamin de Guzman sa ginanap na ceremony sa Philippine Army Headquarters sa lungsod ng Taguig noong Friday. 
Ayon kay DND Undersecretary Ernesto Carolina, ang Philippine government ay patuloy na nagbibigay pagkilala at karangalan sa mga kabayanihan at katapangan pinakita ng mga ito sa pakikipaglaban upang makamit ang kasarinlan at itoy walang katapat na halaga. 

“After the war, the government issued an order allowing them to wear certain medals — World War II medals, liberation medals. Back then, the veterans themselves pay for the medals, so a lot of them went back to the provinces and they never got formally awarded. So better late than never,” ani Carolina.

Kasama rin sa mga pinarangalang sina retired S/Sgt. Alberto Galarpe, Private Carlos Cruz, Cpl. Pedro Peralta, T/Sgt. Ricardo Sarinas, Cpl. Alfredo Arriola, Private Venancio Oblena, Private Gaudioso Salazar, PFC Policarpio Baguisi, PFC Amado Tolentino, T/Sgt. Casiao Tigaronita, S/Sgt. Rigoberto Zuniga, Private Ricardo Tabije  S/Sgt. Primo Santos and 1st Lt. James Leonard Gordon na ama ni Senator Richard Gordon. # FRANCIS SORIANO
